Dreamcatcher 2021 is the second film in the Twilight saga. The first installment, Eclipse, was also directed by Neil Gaiman and its cast includes Aidan Gillen, Summer Glauberman, Edward Kitsci, Jared sheepskin, and more. While I think that Eclipse was great I don’t think that it had the same impact on the Twilight saga as Dreamcatcher Did. I’m not a huge fan of the original Twilight series so I was hoping for something a bit different to make up for that. However, despite my disappointments with Eclipse, I still thought it was an excellent movie and easily has exceeded my expectations.
Dreamcatcher 2021 is about a young girl who lives in the future after the events of Eclipse. There hasn’t been a vampire in modern history, so everybody thinks that humans aren’t naturally vampires (since everyone can become one) and are instead getting vampire children from wealthy parents. Jacob (Aidan Gillen) is a master vampire and he is trying to cure Bella, but she’s not convinced that she should kill him. Her friend, Jacob’s wife Rachel (Sandra Oh), is determined to help her daughter kill their uncle. Everything comes to a head when Edward, Bella’s son, arrives and starts fighting against his father.

One thing I really like about Dreamcatcher 2021 is the excellent acting. Michael Chiklis plays the role of a master vampire hunter and it’s awesome to watch him and Aidan Gillen acting out scenes together. The visual aspect of this movie is also very nice; the blood is bright and there’s some suspense involved as the killer works his way through Bella’s home. It’s definitely a slasher movie but the scenes that follow the death of Bella are very graphic, so if you’re not sure whether or not this movie is for you, then I would definitely stay away because of that.
