Composition of Glass
The flat glass contains less magnesium oxide and sodium oxide, while container glass contains more Silica, Calcium oxide, and Aluminum oxide. It has marginally greater chemical longevity against water due to its elevated content of water-insoluble oxides, which would be required for beverage and food storage.
The majority of container glass is made of soda-lime glass, which is blown and pressed, while some research lab glassware is made of borosilicate glass.
Why do you choose Glass?
Glass packaging has massive benefits: it is eco-friendly, inert, 100 percent and unbounded biodegradable, recyclable, and refillable; it is safe to put food and beverages in; and it is appealing to customers.
Glass is recyclable:
Glass is completely recyclable. So, it can be recycled indefinitely without losing its quality or purity. Glass recycling is a closed-loop system that produces no waste or by-products. Glass is one of the few materials that can be recycled multiple times without losing its quality.
Consumer’s health is the priority:
Glass is the most secure of all packaging materials because it is virtually inert and impermeable, making it good for consumers’ health. There is no risk of harmful chemicals getting into glass-packaged food or beverages. There is no need for any additional barriers or additives. A glass bottle or jar is made entirely of glass.
If choosing glass how to tell the age of a glass bottle? This is quite difficult to answer as there are several factors including the marks at the base, the mouth or top opening of the bottle, the shape of the bottle, etc. It is a tough task.
The inspection process for Glass Bottles and Jars
Each glass bottle and container jar are subjected to a series of tests to ensure that it meets O-stringent I’s requirements. Inside the machines, multiple high-resolution cameras scan up to 800 glass bottles per minute. The cameras are positioned at various angles and can detect even the tiniest flaws.
Machines that apply pressure to glass containers to test wall thickness, strength, and whether the container seals properly are also part of the inspection process. To ensure quality, O-experts I’s manually and visually inspect random samples.
If a glass bottle or jar fails inspection, it is culled and returned to the glass manufacturing process. Glass Bottles that pass inspection are ready to be shipped to f&b makers, who fill them and disperse them to grocery stores, eateries, hotels, and other store outlets for buyers and consumers to enjoy.
