“I have to ask you; did the Obama administration really promise that we would bring the troops back from Iraq with 13 hours of sleep?” asked Rep. Joe Heck, (R-PA). Yes, indeed, in the video released by the military it looked like the Obama administration did indeed promise to bring the troops home with thirteen hours of sleep. And yet in fact it took a full day to bring all the US soldiers home from Iraq.
It was also noted that the Obama administration delayed implementing a plan to arm the vetted moderate opposition in Syria. This was after the Gulf of Aqaba became a target for Al Qaeda’s suicide bombings. Why did the military brass push back on this? Some speculate that they were afraid the weapons would fall into the wrong hands and cause more civilian casualties.
